This year I have made many changes in my writing. I noticed that this year when I wrote some of my papers were more in detail then my papers of previous years. Also, I noticed that I had stronger thesis statements and body paragraphs. My organization skills got way better, because I could never do a prewrite the right way until this year. In writing I have many strengths and weaknesses but I am always striving to do better. Strength in my writing is that I can write good persuasive essays better than any other essay. Persuasive essays are easier to me because when writing one you just give facts and talk about your feelings towards whatever you are talking about. Another strength I have is my organization now. Before I learned how to do a prewrite my papers were all over the place. Now that I know what I am doing and how to organize I can get my prewrite done easily and worry free. My weakness in writing would have to be writing any other type of essay other than persuasive because I am use to writing them now that I write in that form. Also, thesis statements are harder to write because the thesis statementsi have been writing have been persuasive. One of my other big weaknesses is my spelling I have always been a good speller for long words and such, but I get my letters mixed up in confusing words and it does mess my grades up on some of my papers. My favorite piece in the portfolio is the Self Reliance Project because the way it was done. I loved the creativity that we could use or do. I also loved the Midterm Essay for two reasons. The first, was because the essay was a persuasive one. The second reason, was that it was about a book that we could pick and read on our own. Which was cool to have a say in our essay and our midterm. I think that having a portfolio online is better than having one in a folder for many reasons. One, having a portfolio online benefits the students because they can go home and work on and corrects things. They also can look to see others and message other people if they needed help with something. I think it may make it easier to grade as well but I am not sure because I don’t grade them. All around the portfolios online are better for students.
